WINTER PARK, Fla. – Winter Park leaders approved on Monday buying and tearing down a night spot that has a history of alleged criminal activity and boasts a rather "voluptuous" architectural design.

The city voted unanimously to buy the property on 2600 Lee Road and added an amendment to have the building torn down as quickly as possible, pending city codes.

The building that now houses Club Rio, located near the entrance to Winter Park, has seen several strip clubs over the span of 40 years. It's best known to residents by its original name, The Booby Trap, which also described its domed design, resembling a woman's breasts.

The building's owner has been in a long code enforcement dispute with the city, but is selling the building to the city for $990,000.
