ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – The Orange County Sheriff's Office has released the identity of a 25-year-old man who was fatally shot Saturday at a late-night party.
The Sheriff's Office released his name as Carlton Ashford on Sunday after notifying his family.
Investigators said the shooting happened around 2 a.m. at a home on Sophiamarie Loop, off Woodbury Road.
Witnesses told deputies there was an altercation between Ashford and the gunman before the gunman pulled out a handgun and shot Ashford multiple times.
The gunman then ran from the scene, along with most of the partygoers, deputies said.
Detectives are encouraging any party goers present during the shooting who left before speaking to law enforcement to come forward and call CrimeLine at 800-423-TIPS.
