'Stand Your Ground' hearing resumes for Florida man accused of killing 2

William Woodward says he shot men after being threatened

VIERA, Fla. – The second day resumed of a "stand your ground" hearing for a Titusville man accused of shooting three men, killing two of them, during a neighborhood feud.

Billy Woodward's father testified Tuesday that he supplied the guns Woodward used to shoot three of his neighbors in 2012.

Woodward faces two charges of first-degree murder in the deaths of Gary Hembree and Roger Picior.

Bruce Blake was shot 11 times in the incident and survived.

Woodward is now fighting to get those charges dropped using the state's Stand Your Ground Law.

He claims a group of his neighbors taunted and threatened him and his family so badly they feared for their safety.

Woodward's attorneys showed more surveillance video shot from Woodward's home on Tuesday.

They say it shows the group of neighbors being warned by Titusville police, only to return to yelling and threatening the Woodward family 10 seconds after the officer left.

Woodward's father, William Woodward, Sr., told the judge he grew concerned when he says he heard some of the neighbors talking about weapons.

"Roger, and either Gary or Bruce was with him, and I heard Roger say specifically, 'we got guns, we got shotguns, all we got is legal,'" he said.

He also told the judge about an incident outside the courthouse in Titusville when his son first got a protective order against his neighbors.

He says Woodward was leaving the courthouse when some of the neighbors started a fistfight with him, and they tried to use pepper spray on him.

The judge will have to weigh whether that is enough to show he was in imminent danger, and whether it was enough to warrant the shooting deaths of two men, one of whom was shot 28 times.

The hearing continues Wednesday morning in Viera.
