5 arrested, 1 sought in nearly 18 incidents, cops say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County deputies have arrested four juveniles who they say are responsible for more than a dozen robberies, home invasions and aggravated batteries in the Goldenrod area.

Deputies said the juveniles have been charged in nearly 18 incidents. Two adults were also involved in the crime spree, which has been ongoing since March, and a total of five arrests have been made.

The suspects in custody are Alejandro Arroyo, 16, Ramon Rodriguez, 15, Kayla Oms, 17 and Justin Reyes, 19. Enrique Reyes, 23, has a warrant out for his arrest on armed robbery charges.

Deputies said these are crimes of opportunity, where the group takes advantage of innocent victims.

"They actually went out and sought victims that they thought were unsuspecting, unaware of their surroundings and they felt like they wouldn't offer any resistance," deputies said at a news conference. "I think it was a group of kids that made some very bad decisions, some very bad life-changing decisions and I don't think they thought about the ramifications of that when they were doing it."

According to deputies, the most recent case in the crime spree was the armed robbery of a man working on a tractor-trailer on the side of Reddit Road near Mai Tai Drive on Monday night.

Deputies held a news conference to discuss the arrests.
