Man, 90, found dead inside SUV in Palm Bay Medical examiner will determine if man suffered from medical problem No description found
PALM BAY, Fla. – A 90-year-old man was found dead inside a vehicle that crashed into a concrete power pole in Palm Bay, officials said.
Palm Bay officials said John Thomas Smith crashed his Chevrolet TrailBlazer around 7 a.m. Wednesday near the intersection of SW Harper Boulevard and SW Dalhart Street.
According to witnesses, Smith drifted off the roadway and struck the pole. Investigators found no evidence that Smith made any attempts to brake.
The SUV was traveling about 40 mph at the time of impact, authorities said.
The medical examiner will conduct an autopsy to determine if there were any medical problems that might have contributed to the crash.
