Firefighters, cute pets to pose in new calendar for charity

Calendar to raise money for Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. – Firefighters along with some very furry co-stars set to be featured in a new calendar raising money for Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando.

What do you get when you mix firefighters and cute pets? A great looking calendar! And that that is exactly what the Orlando Fire Department and the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando teamed up to do. Although it took some serious toy squeaking, celebrity photographer Michael Rueter captured the dynamic duos, which featured adoptable pets, for the first ever "Orlando Firefighters and Rescued Pets Calendar".

"We partnered around saving lives. We know that firefighters save human lives everyday, Pet Alliance, we save the lives of dogs and cats everyday" Sean Hawkins, vice president of marketing for Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando said.

Their goal is to raise $100,000 dollars in calendar sales to kick off their Pet Rescue Fund.

"We wanted to create a fund for the community for people who cannot afford to pay vet expenses for their pets, so those pets don't have to be turned away" Hawkins said.

These must have calendars will be available for sale later on this fall.

But if you can't wait until then, we have more behind-the-scenes footage in the links below.
