Orange County deputies arrest 'Disney dine-and-dasher'

Cops say homeless man has been stealing from Disney for 10 years

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Deputies said they've busted a serial dine-and-dasher whose history of racking up big bills has targeted Disney for a decade.

The arrest report for Jerry Moody, 51, clearly states that he "preys on the tourist area," in particular, Disney.

Moody's clean-cut appearance never raises an eyebrow at these resorts until he walks out on the bill.

Deputies said Moody, who is believed to be homeless, refused to pay his bar tab Tuesday at The Wave Restaurant in Disney's Contemporary Resort, where he racked up a bill of $92.65 and then tried to run out.

It turns out he did the same thing the night before at the Polynesian Resort.

By his own admission, Moody has been dining and dashing since 2005. Court records show dozens of arrests and ignored trespass warnings because he just "likes to come to Disney."

He's also well-known to restaurants along International Drive. After one arrest, he asked restaurant workers why they served him food if they knew he was not going to pay.

Deputies said even though Moody is banned from various restaurants and shops on Disney property, he still manages to sneak his way in.

Moody was charged with defrauding an innkeeper and trespassing on property after a warning.
