APOPKA, Fla. – A mother was arrested after Apopka police say she left her child home alone to go to work, then went out drinking.
According to police, a woman found Jennifer Oyola's child walking outside the Willow Lake Apartments at around 11 p.m. Monday and contacted officers.
Police said when they went inside of Oyola's apartment, they found trash, clothes, beer bottles and bad food thrown all over the apartment.
Officers also reported a strong smell of cat feces and urine in the apartment.
Oyola was found on a bench behind the complex and appeared drunk when the officer arrested her, according to police.
Police said Oyola told them she went out with some friends after work.
She faces child abuse charges.
