Former FSU quarterback pleads guilty to punching woman

Central Florida student recounts incident

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Former Florida State University quarterback De'Andre Johnson pleaded guilty Thursday to punching an Orlando-area woman.

Johnson was caught on surveillance camera punching Abigail Husty in June at a bar inside a Tallahassee nightclub.

Husty said she suffered a bruised face and a cut on her lip during the incident.

Johnson was sentenced to six months of probation and 10 days on the sheriff's jail work crew as part of a plea deal.

FSU kicked Johnson off the football team after the video of the incident surfaced. He now attends school in Mississippi.

Husty, who is from Central Florida, said her grades suffered because of the incident. The college student said she was afraid to go to class because people would see the bruises on her face and realize she was the woman in the video.

Husty said she is on track to graduate in the spring.
