Daytona Beach police investigate after body found floating in Halifax River

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Daytona Beach police are investigating after a body was found floating in the Halifax River on Friday afternoon.

Police said they received a call about the body floating 20 feet off shore from South Peninsula Drive between the International Speedway and Silver Beach bridges just after 2:30 p.m.

Paramedics retrieved the body of an unidentified white man from the Halifax River, according to police.

No other details were immediately released.
