Man shot dead at Orlando hotel ID'd; witness sought

Orange County deputies say woman may be witness

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man was shot dead early Friday at an Orlando hotel, and sheriff's deputies are trying to identify a woman who might have witnessed the shooting, according to authorities.

Orange County sheriff's deputies said Jamal Wilson died in the shooting, which happened around 12:30 a.m. at the Days Inn at 2500 W. 33rd St. 

According to the Orange County Sheriff's Office, deputies were called to the hotel after shots were fired, and they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds.  

The man was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center in serious condition, deputies said. He was pronounced dead a short time later, according to officials.

Deputies later released photos of a woman who they said was believed to be a witness. Detectives said they're hoping to speak with her about the fatal shooting.
