Orange County trash haulers may face fines for missed pickups

Compnay could be fined $5,000 for missed assignments

ORLANDO, Fla. – Missed pickups could soon result in thousands of dollars in fines for trash haulers in Orange County.

The county has racked up thousands of complaints since it launched its automated trash collection system.

According to the Orlando Sentinel, haulers could face fines of up to $5,000 a day for failing to complete their routes.

Operators fielded roughly 4,500 calls in January for missed pickups and about 2,500 in February.
