Police ID man found shot inside car in Ocala

Dead man's name is Freddie Dillon, authorities say

OCALA, Fla. – A man who died at a hospital after being shot and running his car off an Ocala roadway has been identified, the Marion County Sheriff's Office said.

Freddie Dillon was found unresponsive Wednesday when deputies were dispatched to the 1600 block of NE 37th Street in Ocala.

Deputies said when they arrived, two citizens were performing CPR on the victim and discovered that he had been shot.

A Marion County Fire Rescue unit transported the man to a hospital, where he died Thursday morning.

Deputies said the man had pulled over to tell a bystander that he had been shot and to call 911 before his car traveled down the street and into a tree.
