Men arrested for disposing of drugs at traffic stop, officials say

Carlos Cruz, Jonathan Sanchez face multiple charges

Two men were arrested on Friday after disposing cocaine and marijuana before deputies pulled them over for a traffic stop, the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies were attempting to conduct a traffic stop on Ham Brown Road in Kissimmee when they observed a car turning into Sunrise Elementary School.

Deputies observed Carlos Cruz and Jonathan Sanchez throwing small bags of marijuana and cocaine out the window before they came to a complete stop, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Deputies conducted the traffic stop and located 20 small bags of marijuana, 140 small bags of cocaine, and a large amount of cash, the release said.

Cruz and Sanchez were both charged with tampering with evidence, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, possession of cocaine with intent to sell, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana with intent to sell.

Cruz was also charged with driving with a suspended license.

Both men were arrested and booked in to the Osceola County Jail.
