Jet Blue, Southwest Airlines waiving fees for flight changes due to storm

Only applies to certain Florida cities

ORLANDO, Fla. – Jet Blue and Southwest Airlines announced that they are waiving fees for people who need to change their travel plans due to Colin.

Southwest statement:

Based on the forecasted weather conditions for parts of Florida, our scheduled service on Monday, June 6, may be disrupted (delayed, diverted, and/or canceled flights) at the following cities:

• Ft. Myers (RSW)
• Jacksonville (JAX)
• Orlando (MCO)
• Panama City Beach (ECP)
• Tampa (TPA)

Customers who are holding reservations on Monday, June 6, and want to alter their travel plans may rebook in the original class of service or travel standby (within 14 days of their original date of travel between the original city-pairs and in accordance with our accommodation procedures) without paying any additional charge.

Customers who purchased their itinerary via southwest.com or the mobile app are eligible to reschedule their travel plans online or from their mobile device.

Customers who did not purchase a ticket via southwest.com or the mobile app can call 1-800-435-9792 to speak with a Customer Representative.

Customers in the U.S. scheduled to travel internationally must call 1-800-435-9792 to speak with a Customer Representative for assistance with rebooking.

 

Jet Blue statement: 

Due to tropical weather forecasted to impact multiple cities in Florida, we will waive change/cancel fees and fare differences for customers traveling on Monday, June 6, 2016 and Tuesday, June 7, 2016 to/from the following cities:

• Daytona Beach, FL (DAB)
• Fort Lauderdale, FL (FLL)
• Fort Myers, FL (RSW)
• Jacksonville, FL (JAX)
• Orlando, FL (MCO)
• Sarasota, FL (SRQ)
• Tampa, FL (TPA)
• West Palm Beach, FL (PBI)

Customers may rebook their flights for travel through Sunday, June 12, 2016 prior to the departure of their originally scheduled flight. Customers with canceled flights may opt for a refund. Original travel must have been booked on or before Saturday, June 4, 2016.
