Driver suffers medical episode, crashes into Polk County funeral home 55-year-old taken to hospital with serious injuries No description found
MULBERRY, Fla. – A 55-year-old man who suffered a medical emergency while driving his pickup truck Monday crashed into a Polk County funeral home, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
The crash happened around 3 p.m. on State Road 60 near 12th Avenue in Mulberry.
According to the FHP, Raymond Myers was driving a 1996 Dodge Ram westbound on State Road 60 when he lost control of his vehicle.
The FHP said the pickup left the road and crashed entirely into the lobby of the Seigler Funeral Home at 1300 E. SR 60. The crash caused an estimated $40,000 in damage, troopers said.
Myers was taken to Lakeland Regional with serious injuries, the FHP said.
No one inside the funeral home was injured.
