Man shot dead in car in Daytona Beach

Argument led to shooting, police say

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – A man was shot and killed Tuesday night while sitting in a car in Daytona Beach, police said.

Daytona Beach police said Bashawn Johnson, 24, died in the shooting, which was reported about 9:10 p.m. in the 1000 block of Lewis Drive.

Police said there was an argument between Johnson and another man and several shots were fired. Johnson was struck at least once, police said.

The culprit fled in a black Dodge Charger or Challenger that has a dent on its fender, police said.

Johnson's twin brother, Bobby Johnson, pleaded for help.

"If you have any information, come forward. My little brother was a good dude. (He was ) just a regular person," Bobby Johnson said.

No other details have been released.
