DELTONA, Fla. – A 23-year-old man was shot early Thursday at a home in Volusia County, deputies said.
The shooting was reported at a house on Ryan Lane near Courtland Boulevard in Deltona.
According to Volusia County sheriff's deputies, the man said he heard a noise in his backyard and went to investigate. He said he got into an altercation with someone and was shot in the leg, according to deputies.
The man was taken to a hospital for treatment.
Deputies are investigating the man's story but told News 6 that they found no evidence of someone else being in the man's yard.
No other details have been released.
