Fire destroys barn, recording studio in Sumter

WILDWOOD, Fla. – A Sumter County barn that houses a recording studio was destroyed by fire, officials said.

The blaze was reported at 7:10 a.m. Monday at Northwest 27th Drive in Wildwood .

Fire officials said the barn was consumed by smoke and flames when they arrived. The homeowner said the barn houses a small recording studio, a living area and office. 

"The building and its contents were a total loss," fire officials said.

Crews extinguished the fire and the state fire marshal will investigate the cause of the blaze.

No other details were released.
