Man dies in shooting in downtown Orlando, police say

2 suspects arrested on unrelated charges

ORLANDO, Fla. – A man is dead after a shooting in downtown Orlando early Sunday morning, the Orlando Police Department said.

Police responded to East Central Boulevard near Orange Avenue at 2:40 a.m. after hearing gunshots.

When OPD arrived on the scene, they found a 23-year-old man laying in the middle of the street with gunshot wounds.

Richard Burgos, 23, was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where he later died, police said.

OPD said that after the shooting broke out, two men fled the scene and officers on foot.

The men were located on West Pine Street and were identified by witnesses as the suspects in the shooting.

They both were arrested on unrelated charges.

No further information was immediately released.
