Downed aircraft causes small fire in New Smyrna Beach

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. – A downed aircraft caused a small brush fire in New Smyrna Beach Monday afternoon, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office.
One person was on board the single-engine aircraft when it crashed near Pioneer Trail Road and Airport Road. No injuries were reported.
Video over the scene of today's plane crash around 3:30 p.m. along Pioneer Trail just east of Airport Road near New Smyrna Beach. The pilot was the only person on board; we're glad to say that he walked away with minor cut/scrape injuries.
