MELBOURNE, Fla. – A man’s body was found in the Indian River, just north of the Eau Gallie Causeway, late Monday morning, according to the Melbourne Police Department.

The body has been identified as Long Nguyen. He was 31.

People who were in the area of the Eau Gallie Causeway late Thursday afternoon or Thursday night are now asked to call police.

Earlier in the day Thursday, investigators released information announcing they were looking for Nguyen, after his “actions and extended absence caused (his) family members concern,” according to a news release from police.

Foul play isn’t suspected in Nguyen’s death, but the investigation continues. The Melbourne Police Department’s criminal investigations division is looking for witnesses from the day Nguyen was reported as missing.

Nguyen’s body was found about 11:30 a.m. Monday.

People with information should call Detective Ian Mitchell at 321-608-6452.
