7 men caught on camera in deadly Orlando home invasion

Neighbors say Christopher Perkins died in the street after shooting

ORLANDO, Fla. – Orange County sheriff's investigators need the public's help in tracking down seven men seen on surveillance video storming into an Orlando home.

The home invasion happened about 4 a.m. Sept. 8, OCSO spokeswoman Jane Watrel said.

Surveillance video shows seven men kicking in the front door of a home where 38-year-old Christopher Perkins lived with some relatives, Watrel said.

Perkins' cousin told News 6 that Perkins had just been given a large amount of money as a gift, and he suspects these men were coming after it.

He said the men pistol whipped his uncle, who uses a wheelchair, inside the home as Perkins dashed out the back door.

Perkins jumped the fence and ran down the street as the men shot at him, he added.

Bullet holes could be seen Wednesday night in the home's door jam, the overhang, the window and a tree down the street.

OCSO investigators said Perkins was shot at the corner just a few doors down from where he lived. His neighbors say he died in the street.

"The violence of this is astounding," Watrel said.

She said OCSO investigators want the public to see this surveillance video to help identify the seven men involved.

"As soon as I saw this video, I thought, somebody out there knows what's going on and knows who these individuals are," she said.

Crimeline has set up a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrests of the seven men.
