Dead turtle found hanging from Orange County sign Sheriff's office investigates incident
ORLANDO, Fla. – The Orange County Sheriff's Office is searching for whoever was behind a disturbing case of animal abuse.
Stacie Snipes says she was driving home when she spotted the turtle with a wire through its lower jaw hanging from the sign near the intersection of Sand Lake Road and Voltaire Drive.
"I had to pull over because I was shaking and crying," she said. "Turtles are one of the gentlest creatures out there. They wouldn't hurt a fly. The thought of somebody dragging this poor turtle out and torturing it to death, cracked my heart in half."
The Orange County Sheriff's Office is now investigating.
