Woman shoots husband in chest, wrist, deputies say

WINTER PARK, Fla. – Authorities were investigating a shooting in Winter Park Saturday night, deputies said.

Seminole County deputies responded to a home on the 1000 block of Hampshire Court around 9:45 p.m. after what began as a domestic dispute between Tina Poirier, 28, ended in a shooting, deputies said.

When deputies arrived at the home, they spoke with Poirier, who told them that she and her husband had gotten into an argument, deputies said. During the argument, she got a gun and shot her husband in the chest and wrist, the Sheriff's Office said.

Deputies said the husband was alert when they arrived and was taken to a nearby hospital, where he is in serious condition. 

Poirier was arrested and charged with attempted homicide and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, deputies said.

This case marks the seventh alleged case involving domestic violence reported across Central Florida this weekend.
