Denny's in Ocoee evacuated over gas leak

OCOEE, Fla. – A Denny’s restaurant in Ocoee was evacuated Monday night because of a gas leak, officials said.

The leak, reported at Economic Court and West Colonial Drive, was secured as of 11 p.m., Orange County Fire Rescue said.

It appears a natural gas line was struck with some equipment, according to preliminary reports.

West Colonial Drive was closed in both directions between the Turnpike and Maguire Road, officials said. Colonial later reopened.
