Trial postponed for family charged in Brevard high school brawl

Mom, son, goddaughter charged with battery

COCOA, Fla. – The trial of three family members arrested following a fight outside Cocoa High School has been pushed back to May 25.

Police said the October fight started after Kelly Rhynes, her son, Cedric, and goddaughter, Brittany Canada, became impatient in the school car line.

The brawl was caught on camera and all three admitted to hitting the victim, but said she swung first, according to officials.

All three are charged with battery.

The trial was scheduled to begin at 1:30 p.m. Monday, but was postponed.
