25-acre brush fire burns in Melbourne

MELBOURNE, Fla. – A 25-acre fire was burning Sunday in West Melbourne, according to Brevard County Fire Rescue.

At last check, this was considered a brush fire with multiple spot fires, officials said. It's now 70 percent contained.

The blaze, now known as the Palm Fire, is burning in the area of Carriage Gate and Minton roads.

The Florida Forest Service is involved, as well.

Winds and dry conditions are a factor.
