OCOEE, Fla. – A man robbed an Ocoee Chick-fil-A Tuesday morning before entering a GameStop and confusing a new employee who was punched and dragged, Ocoee police said.
Authorities said police first responded to the Chick-fil-A in reference to a robbery and a battery. The suspect, identified as Michael Klein, 27, then left the restaurant and entered a nearby GameStop, police said.
A new employee mistook Klein for a manager whom she hadn't met yet, and after a few back-and-forth remarks, Klein shoved her, police said.
After shoving back, Klein bear-hugged the employee and after she broke free, he punched her twice in the left eye, police said. The woman fell to the floor, threw her keys at him after being dragged to the back of the store and ran out, police said.
The employee ran into Lana Nails and tried to call for help as Klein ran after her. After she attempted to call 911, Klein grabbed her again and dragged her outside, where officers were waiting, police said. The employee ran back into GameStop and locked the doors as officers arrested Klein, authorities said.
After he was taken to the Orange County Jail, Klein's behavior caused authorities to pepper-spray him and use a taser on him, police said.
