Person of interest located in shooting death of Kissimmee officers, police say

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – A person of interest sought in connection to a shooting Friday night that killed two Kissimmee officers was located Sunday and questioned, police said.

Police said detectives were searching for Maribel Gonzales King as part of the investigation. Officers said the woman is not considered a suspect.

King is known to frequent the McLaren Circle area, officers said.

Police said King was interviewed by detectives, but gave no further information.

The Kissimmee officers were gunned down Friday night while responding to a call near Cypress and Palmway streets, police said.

Everett Glenn Miller, 45, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Officer Matthew Baxter, who died Friday night, officers said. 

Sgt. Sam Howard, who was shot while assisting Baxter with the call, was gravely injured and died Saturday afternoon, police said.
