ORLANDO, Fla. – A man was arrested Monday at an Orlando-area strip club while trying to use a stolen credit card and phone he took from someone at SeaWorld, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
Christopher Florez, 27, was arrested on charges of fraud and grand theft.
The victim told deputies that he placed his iPhone and wallet into a bin near the entrance of the Manta ride at SeaWorld. When he got off the ride, he said, the bin was empty.
The victim flagged down a deputy and a security guard at the park. The security guard said that he witnessed someone matching Florez's description, but then the man disappeared.
Then, about two hours later, the victim started to receive pin notifications from his phone's GPS. He said that at about the same time, he also got an alert saying someone was trying to use his prepaid MasterCard at the same location: Rachel's Gentlemen's Club.
The victim then called dispatchers and met deputies at the strip club.
Once deputies arrived, club security helped escort Florez out of the building to speak with officers.
Orange County deputies said Florez first told them that he bought the phone from a friend who stole it at SeaWorld. However, investigators said that after he couldn't name the friend, he then admitted to taking the items.
