4 detained after home invasion, chase in Orange County, deputies say

Resident injured during robbery on 25th Street

ORLANDO, Fla. – Four men were detained early Thursday after a police pursuit in Orange County following a violent home invasion, authorities said.

The home invasion was reported around 6:15 a.m. in the 1400 block of 25th Street, northwest of Interstate 4 near Orlando.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to a home invasion and found that two men were home when they heard a knock on the door.

One of them opened the door, and three assailants, one of whom had a gun, forced their way inside, demanding money and property, deputies said.

After stealing several items from the home, the intruders got into a getaway car, deputies said.

Officials said deputies spotted the vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop. The driver did not stop, however, and a pursuit began, deputies said.

The pursuit ended at Columbia Street and Orange Blossom Trail, and all four culprits were apprehended after a brief chase on foot, deputies said.

Officials said one of the victims of the home invasion suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

No other details have been released.
