Apopka to ease rules on alcohol

APOPKA, Fla. – The Apopka City Council on Wednesday night voted in favor of a proposal to relax its laws on alcohol.

The change will allow stores to sell beer, wine and spirits every day, including on Sundays until 2 a.m.

The current rules cut off sales at midnight and ban buying alcohol before noon on Sundays.

The vote also will reduce distance requirements for the sale and consumption of alcohol.
