ORLANDO, Fla, – A man was shot to death late Wednesday in the middle of a street in an Orlando neighborhood, police said.
The fatal shooting was reported just before midnight on Bentley Street near the Temple of Prayer Church, not far from Tampa Avenue and Colonial Drive.
Orlando police said first responders performed CPR on the victim, but he died at the scene. Police later identified the victim as 25-year-old Joseph Hepburn.
Orlando police Lt. Jonathan Bigelow said Willie Eckford and Jahquon Glover, both 18, turned themselves in about an hour later to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
Police said the three men met up around 11 p.m. at the Best Western West Orlando Hotel on West Colonial Drive where the suspects were staying. The suspects started arguing with the victim about a possible burglary in their hotel room earlier in the day. Hepburn denied being involved in the burglary and the three continued to argue, according to the arrest report.
The fight turned physical between Eckford and Hepburn. Eckford pulled out a handgun and chased Hepburn around his vehicle, eventually shooting the victim, according to the report.
Police said the suspects attempted to dispose of the victim's Honda Accord in Lake Mann.
Glover is charged with first-degree murder, carjacking with a firearm and attempted first-degree murder.
