Lightning might be cause of house fire with partial roof collapse

Fire reported on Conway Place Circle in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Lightning might have started a blaze at a home in the 4200 block of Conway Place Circle on Monday night, officials with Orange County Fire Rescue said.

A neighbor said she believes that to be the case, as well. The neighbor told News 6 that she spotted a huge bolt of lightning that shook her whole house -- even ringing her doorbell -- and then saw flames coming from next door.

The roof collapsed partially at that home, a two-story house where the fire mostly damaged the upstairs.

Firefighters had to rip off the garage door to access the home. No one was inside when the blaze started, and no one was hurt.
