OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – An Osceola County deputy was injured Tuesday afternoon when a pickup truck hit the motorcycle he was on, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Officials said the crash happened shortly before 12:30 p.m. on eastbound Interstate 4 in Deltona, near mile marker 111.

A white pickup truck was in the center lane and likely did not see the deputy, who was in an outside lane, Osceola County authorities said. The impact of the crash caused the motorcycle to skid and the deputy to be ejected.

He was taken to Halifax Hospital to be treated for road rash.

The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
