Motorcyclist killed in crash at I-4 ramp in DeBary

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A motorcyclist was killed Saturday evening in a crash at the Interstate 4 ramp in DeBary, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Office. 

The crash happened around 7:30 p.m. on Dirksen Drive at I-4, where a motorcycle headed westbound on Dirksen hit an eastbound Kia sedan that was turning left onto the I-4 ramp, deputies said.

The traffic signal for eastbound and westbound traffic was green at the time, with a flashing yellow signal for traffic turning onto I-4, according to deputies. 

The motorcycle was driven by 25-year-old Dylan J. Bryan, of Apopka. Bryan was pronounced deceased by paramedics at the scene, deputies said. 

A second motorcyclist, 26-year-old Cody Beasley, of Merritt Island, was able to avoid impact with the Kia and sustained minor injuries, according to deputies.

The Kia driver, 80-year-old Cecilio Cruz Rivera, of Orlando, was not injured. He did not display any signs of impairment, deputies said. 

Neither motorcycle rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Traffic is shut down in the area of the crash, including both I-4 ramps, as Volusia County sheriff's deputies investigate.
