Woman hospitalized after being stabbed at Apopka apartment complex

53-year-old victim taken to ORMC for injuries, officials say

APOPKA, Fla. – A woman was hospitalized after being stabbed at an Apopka apartment complex, according to the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said Apopka police officers were called to the complex in the 500 block of Marden Meadows Drive to conduct a well-being check around 12:30 p.m., when they found the 53-year-old woman suffering from a stab wound.

Due to the apartment complex falling within the Sheriff's Office's jurisdiction, Orange County deputies took over the investigation, officials said.

The woman was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center to be treated for her injuries, officials said.

Authorities have not identified a suspect in the stabbing but do believe the person or people responsible knew the victim. Deputies said the investigation is ongoing.

No other information was immediately available.
