Bullets fly into Orange County restaurant, deputies search for suspects

Bullet entered business near Narcoossee Road, Moss Park, officials say

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. – Orange County sheriff's deputies are searching for suspects after a shooting in a shopping center parking lot on Thursday afternoon.

Deputies said they were called to a report of shots fired at the corner of Narcoossee and Moss Park roads just before 3 p.m.

A window at Giovanni's Pizza was hit by at least one bullet, shattering it. Deputies said a large amount of drugs was later found in the same parking lot.

"There were three vehicles involved in this shooting," said Deputy Christian Marrero.

Marrero said one of the cars with three people inside crashed into a tree outside the shopping center.

He said two of the occupants ran into a 7-Eleven store to hide.

"Police come running into the store with their pistols out, and they're looking for the guys who are involved in the shooting," said worker Fabian Tevares.  "They eventually find them in the bathroom."

Marrero said they transported one of the suspects to the hospital with a gunshot wound.

He said the other was taken into custody, while the third suspect ran off, prompting a search that lasted into the night.

OCSO's helicopter searched by air, while deputies and Orlando police officers searched on the ground using police dogs to help him out.

Marrero said since the other two vehicles got away, investigators were still searching for more suspects.

"We don't know how many people we're looking for at this point," Marrero said.

Narcoossee Road was reopened to traffic Thursday night while the search for the suspects continued.
