WINTER PARK, Fla. – A man was arrested this week in connection to a string of recent burglaries in Winter Park, according to police.
Joel Rosario, 40, was arrested Friday with help from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, the Winter Park Police Department said on social media.
Rosario is charged with fleeing/eluding law enforcement with lights and sirens activated, according to the Orange County Clerk. The police department’s post goes on to say he would also face charges of aggravated battery on a law-enforcement officer, burglary, criminal mischief and resisting a law-enforcement officer with violence.
The post describes a series of recent residential burglaries along the Phelps corridor of Winter Park, where police said they had begun surveillance and eventually heard two loud bangs.

Investigating officers encountered a suspect running from the home and attempting to leave the scene in a car, ramming an unmarked officer’s vehicle in the process, the post states.
Orange County deputies reportedly spotted and pursued the suspect’s vehicle after Winter Park police told neighboring jurisdictions to be on the lookout. The pursuit was brief, ending with Rosario bailing out, trying to run, and being apprehended by deputies, police said.
Rosario, in addition to the charges police say he will face, is a suspect in at least three other burglaries over a five-day span, according to the post.
A link between Rosario and the burglary victims had not been determined at the time of this writing, police said, adding there were no injuries during his arrest.
