If you are still wanting to participate and get your hands on eclipse glasses for the Aug. 21 event, you are still in luck. The total solar eclipse will cover a majority of the United States, from South Carolina to Oregon.
News 6 reporter Amanda Castro has been investigating where you can score glasses across Central Florida.
The Seminole State College Eclipse Observation will have 5,000 glasses for the event on a first come, first serve basis.
"It's exciting to see this level of engagement and that the public is so ready to experience something as cool as this eclipse," Michael McConville, Seminole State College planetarium coordinator, said.
The demand for these glasses has been high, as the Planetrium has been gotten inundated with calls.
"We have been getting between four and 500 calls a day about the eclipse glasses," McConville said.
One woman who is still on the hunt for glasses is determined to find some for her daughter.
"I kinda caught onto it a little bit late, and I have an 11-year-old daughter, and she would like to see it," Krista
Taurins said.
News 6 called the Central Florida library system and found that three Central Florida counties, Osceola, Lake and Marion, still have glasses, but only for people attending their viewing events on Monday.
In Osceola County, the Poinciana branch library and the Memorial Hart branch library will have glasses for their respective viewing parties.
The Lake County library has several thousand pairs of glasses, but they will not be given away until Monday during their programs.
The Marion County Public Library has glasses available for their viewing parties, but it is on a first come, first-serve basis.
The libraries in Sumter and Brevard never had glasses, and the other counties ran out earlier this week.
However, in News 6's quest to find eclipse glasses, we found a place that has them: a 7-Eleven at Rinehart Road and Lake Mary Boulevard.
"We got 100 of these in yesterday. We sold them in 45 minutes," manager Terri Jarvie said.
"I think we're pretty close to the only one (that has them). My franchisee talked to our area supervisor, and they can't even get them. Other stores are calling us, (asking), 'Where are you getting them? Where are you getting them?'"
News 6 reached out to local retailers that were selling the glasses, including Walmart, Best Buy, 7-Eleven and Lowes. Officials from many of those retailers said they are sold out of the glasses.
