U.S. Rep Ted Yoho will continue to represent Florida’s 3rd congressional district after winning the 2018 general election.
Yoho was first elected to Congress for District 3 in 2012, which includes parts of Marion Clay, Putnam, Alachua, Bradford, Union counties. Yoho defeated Democrat Yvonne Hayes-Hinson on Election Day to retain his seat.

Before becoming House representative, Yoho worked as a large animal veterinarian and owned several practices.
According to CNN, Yoho was listed as a member of the House Freedom Caucus in March 2017.
A staunch supporter of President Donald Trump, Yoho recently voiced his opposition when the president said in July that he wanted to invite Russian President Vladimir Putin to Washington for a meeting.
Yoho, who sits on the House Foreign Affairs Committee, said Russian interference in U.S. elections is something that should not be tolerated.
“If indeed this does go back to Russians that are in the Russian military or government, absolutely not, I don't think we should invite President Putin over here at this time," Yoho told CNN.
Yoho also serves on the Agriculture Committee.
