Pasco County Sheriff’s Office seeks help identifying suspect

PORT RICHEY, Fla. – The Pasco County Sheriff’s Office is on the hunt for a man who investigators said stole a baby alligator from a Port Richey business.

Deputies said the theft happened just before 4 a.m. Monday at a business located in the 10500 block of U.S. 19.

The suspect used a device to catch the baby alligator, wrapped it in a white cloth, and then fled the scene on a blue bicycle, according to the sheriff’s office.

In the video shared on social media, the suspect is seen approaching and reaching into the alligator exhibit before riding off on a bicycle.

The suspect is described as a white male, estimated to be between 20 and 30 years old, with a beard and mustache. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black hat, a blue and white plaid long-sleeve shirt, a black undershirt, black shorts, and black shoes, deputies said.
