‘6-7′ among Florida’s biggest slang terms. Here’s what it means

Study looks at Sunshine State’s top Google searches

A new report by Unscramblerer has revealed Florida’s biggest slang terms — including one that’s become especially popular among children and teens.

More specifically, the study looks at Google Trends throughout 2025 to discover which slang terms Florida residents are searching for most often.

“Popular slang in 2025 continues to be heavily influence by TikTok, Instagram, gaming, streaming, Gen Z, and Alpha online communities,” an Unscramblerer spokesperson said. “Trends from social media spread rapidly via memes and viral challenges.”

Below are the top 10 slang terms searched in Florida, according to the report.

  1. Aura Farming — Refers to a behavior (often referencing anime characters) where a person does something for the sake of looking cool
  2. 6-7 — There is no literal meaning to six seven. Its absurdity is the point, making it a prime example of “brainrot” internet humor where the randomness itself becomes funny. It originates from the song “Doot Doot (6 7)” by Skrilla. LaMelo Ball a basketball player created a trending video about being 6 feet 7 inches tall using the song. Kids and teens scream and chant it often paired with exaggerated hand gestures.
  3. Sybau — Acronym for “Shut your b****-a** up.”
  4. Dih — “D**k.” Many algorithms on social media platforms prohibit profane words, so users come up with “Algo speak” like “dih.”
  5. Sigma — Refers to an independent, self-reliant person who operates outside traditional social hierarchies, often described as a “lone wolf.”
  6. Chuzz — This is a combination of two slang words: “Chopped” and “Huzz.” Used to describe an unattractive girl.
  7. Chopped — This term has become a synonym for something that is ugly, undesirable or unattractive.
  8. Clanker — A derogatory term for robots and A.I. technology. An example would be “having to talk to a clanker,” which would mean talking with a chatbot.
  9. Sharking — Actively looking for romantic encounters, like a shark circling prey.
  10. Glazing — To praise someone excessively and insincerely. A way to call out behavior where excessive flattery is used.
