Ship that set sail from Florida rerouted due to storm

TAMPA, Fla. – A Royal Caribbean cruise ship rescued at least a dozen people from a raft after the vessel diverted from its original route to avoid Tropical Storm Imelda.

The Enchantment of the Seas, which departed from Tampa, spotted the raft Sunday while sailing toward Mexico. The ship had altered its intended Bahamas route due to the storm.

The cruise ship dispatched a rescue vessel to assist the group. Crew members provided food and medical attention to those rescued.
