NEW TAMPA, Fla. — Police say a woman was found dead next to her car in a New Tampa, Florida area neighborhood. A toddler was found inside who was sleeping and uninjured. When officers arrived, they found a baby in a car seat of a Ford EcoSport SUV and his mother who was reportedly in her 20s, dead next to her car. Authorities said that the woman had upper body trauma and that the toddler was unharmed. According to WFLA, investigators said that it appeared that the mother didn’t live in the neighborhood where her body and vehicle with her toddler inside were found.

On June 19, 2020, package delivery employees reported that they received a suspicious package in California, according to the DOJ. According to WPEC, the package was being shipped from California but the sender’s address and the return address on the package were reportedly both in Florida. Investigators searched the suspicious package and found more than 18 pounds of methamphetamine inside.

TAMPA, Fla. — A Florida man is accused of shooting at a deputy in what the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office is calling a case of road rage. When Henry attempted to pass the vehicle, Swint allegedly rolled his window down and fired a gunshot at the deputy, WTSP-TV reported. The bullet hit just behind the passenger side door and the wheel, the sheriff’s office said. The deputy, who has been with the sheriff’s office since October 2016, was not injured. Deputies stopped Swint about 10 minutes later and he allegedly confessed to the shooting, saying it was a case of road rage, WTSP reported.
