HILLSBOROUGH COUNTY, Fla. – No injuries were reported after a sedan with three occupants crashed into a tractor-trailer and wound up pinned beneath it along Interstate 75 in Hillsborough County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 7 p.m. on Tuesday along southbound I-75, near the 269 milepost, troopers said.
According to a preliminary FHP statement, the sedan was being driven southbound by an 18-year-old Wesley Chapel man — with two other 18-year-old Wesley Chapel men riding as passengers — who lost control of it while driving in a reckless manner.
The sedan traveled from the inside lane to the outside center lane and under the semi’s trailer, causing the big rig to jackknife and come to final rest in the center median with the sedan pinned beneath it, the statement reads.
None of the three men in the sedan suffered injuries in the crash, nor did the 49-year-old St. Cloud man driving the tractor-trailer, troopers said.
