LEE COUNTY, Fla. – An intense video showed a Jaguar slamming into the rear of a stopped school bus, wedging itself underneath the vehicle, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash happened around 9 a.m. Wednesday. In a social media post, the sheriff’s office stated that video footage shows the Jaguar driver failing to slow down as the bus approached a bus stop. The driver, identified as 31-year-old Jacob Novak, was cited for following too closely.
Deputies said no students were on board the bus at the time, but the bus driver was treated on scene for minor injuries and taken to the hospital.
Novak was medically cleared at the crash scene before walking home, where he was arrested two hours later.
On Thursday, the sheriff’s office announced that Novak was involved in a domestic disturbance at his home, where he pushed a female during the incident.
Novak was booked into jail for battery.
