VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – One Port Orange high school was placed on lockdown Wednesday morning after Volusia County School officials say there were rumors of a weapon on campus.
As of noon Wednesday, the school district said the lockdown had been lifted and no weapon was found.
Law enforcement was on the scene around 10 a.m. Officials said it did not appear to be a valid threat.
VCPS said the school day resumed as usual. There will be additional law enforcement presence on campus as a precaution.
