ORLANDO, Fla. â Itâs not new. Floridaâs Fourth Estate vodcast (video podcast) has been hosted by News 6 anchors Matt Austin and Ginger Gadsden for about four years now.
âThis is a show where we select the topics, we select the guests, thereâs no teleprompter. Itâs more casual and direct so you get to know who we are,â said Matt.

âWhen you peel off the layer of formality, you get more of who we are and I donât think thatâs a bad thing,â Ginger added.
Floridaâs Fourth Estate brings you the headlines and stories unique to the sunshine state in a nontraditional way. Matt usually hosting from his home, making things more casual. What you donât see is where Matt is sitting. Itâs no office.
âThe magic happens in my kidsâ play room. Sometimes Iâll find a hair thing or fake fingernail sitting on my desk. This is where I host the show from,â said Matt.
Itâs an explosion of pink. Everything from a dollhouse filled with small toys to books. Even a pink kitchenette set. (Can you tell Mattâs a #girldad?)
âWhen Iâm on camera, I try to keep that out of the background. I mean, look at these pink seats. Iâm negotiating for new office chairs for dad... and itâs not going so well,â said Matt.
Matt and Ginger are no strangers to cameras and microphones, they anchor the news every day. But for Floridaâs Fourth Estate, theyâre the ones in control, pushing all the buttons.
Floridaâs Fourth Estate offers some good hearty news, but sometimes include unique topics and off the cuff conversation with guests.
âI just enjoy not knowing whatâs going to come out of Mattâs mouth. I work off of that energy,â said Ginger.
âWe have John Morgan on sometimes and we have to have the bleep button ready. Just people who are genuine. We even had a nudist on the show,â said Matt.
âWe had a legit cowboy on and he was very good at the sport, so humble, and cute,â laughed Ginger.
Before getting to the main topic and guests of the show, Matt and Ginger get you caught up on the top stories of the week. From time to time theyâll get personal, sharing some hate mail and bloopers.
âIf there something thatâs grabbing headlines in Florida, weâre going to grab that subject and unpack it in something thatâs longer than one minute 30. Itâs going to be fun and I hope that we can bring a show that will give you little tidbits, youâll learn some things and you might laugh,â said Ginger.
